This looks absolutely amazing. The metallic bits, the use of decals-- but what impresses me the most is that amazing faux wood grain you're using for the handle. How did you get that effect?

It's a technique that I've developed over time. It's a combination of flat black primer, off-white latex paint, and spray wood stains.

It's got a lot of fun little details that you can't see in the pics, like little gold painted parts.

Yeah, I totally need to make one with the JAKOBS logo instead of "Justice".

Thanks! It's cute and looks great as a little sawed-off for photos or larping or whatever. I have a few more that I need to do. I think the flat, rectangular surfaces are great for decals, and I'll probaby do a bit more with them on the next ones.

Wow, that "Justice" is a decal on the side of the gun? That's a great idea! I thought it was painted on.

And yeah, it is a very neat little gun and tons of fun to play with. That nerf orange and yellow just has to be dealt with though haha!

Yeah I do my own graphic design on the decals and logos. Decals make a HUGE difference in the finished appearance. I need better pictures of this gun, and I need to make another because the yellow "laser warning" decal really sells the piece. [link]

This one is black ink on transparent decal film:

This one is a gauge decal, not a real gauge:

I've done a bunch for Brian Johnson too, and I'm sending him another sheet of Mass Effect/Halo/Misc decals for his guns since they work so well: [link]

You're totally right when you say the decals sell the piece, and not just in the case of that one pistol. They add so much to look!

I remember looking into how to make decals once upon a time, but it never got beyond the googling stage. You're really making me want to look into again now! LOL :D

I have another test piece that I'll be getting pictures of today that has some really big decals. They're tricky to work with!

Glad you like it, I might be making some more for sale soon. I have friend who wants to use them as pledge drive type gifts for his fundraiser for his website. I'll definitely upload pics of the next batch I do, and they'll look even better!

what actual nerf model is this? Very nice job on the painting, and I love the kill tally (or at least thats what I assume it is) in white marks on the side =P

Thanks! You start with a black base and drybrush on the colors lightly. There's tons of tutorials on the internet on how to do it, everybody has their own way of doing it.
